When Andrea Person attended a training offered by North Range a few summers ago, she was inspired. The training, Rainbow Road: Walking Therapeutically with Clients in the LGBTQIA Community, changed her entire perspective. “I was blown away,” shared Andrea, a navigator at WorkLife Partnership.
WorkLife Partnership is a nonprofit organization with a mission to "build prosperity for individuals, businesses, families, and communities by unleashing the potential of frontline workers through collaboration with their employers and other resources."
Knowing that her workplace was committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable culture, Andrea pitched an idea for WorkLife to implement a mandatory staff training that would offer tools to better understand and support the LGBTQ+ community.
“I made it my goal to get our entire organization trained,” shared Andrea, “but when I tried to find online training that matched what North Range provided, nothing even came close.”
That’s when Andrea had the idea to collaborate with North Range to take Rainbow Road to WorkLife staff. She pitched the idea to her executive team, and they gave the green light. Person recalls, “our executive team agreed that Rainbow Road would help our organization be safe and empowering for all people who utilize our services. They trusted North Range and welcomed the collaboration.”
In February 2021, North Range provided Rainbow Road training to the entire WorkLife staff. The training was also recorded and archived for new WorkLife employees to review in the future. North Range is proud of this collaboration with WorkLife and welcomes opportunities for collaboration like this with other agencies.
