Suicide Prevention Begins with All of Us

Suicide is a leading cause of death. It is also the most preventable. In 2023, Weld County lost 66 lives to suicide and countless more attempted.

Imagine Zero of Weld County in partnership with Suicide Education and Support Services (SESS), a program of North Range Behavioral Health, works to prevent suicide by destigmatizing mental health and collaborating with our community to raise awareness about the warning signs associated with suicide.

You can help save lives by learning how to talk about mental health, researching suicide prevention resources, and checking in on the well-being of your family, friends, and neighbors.

Start the conversation. Social support and connection are important protective factors in reducing suicide.

Learn the stats. In the United States, more than 48,000 people died by suicide in 2021. That is 1 person every 11 minutes. (CDC)

Shatter stigma. Stigma can lead to a person feeling embarrassed, misunderstood, and marginalized.
